Explore outer space and look at the stars and planets, or the observatory, at the Urania Observatory in Aalborg, where you can find and use the largest publicly accessible refracting telescope in Denmark.

Besides having Denmark’s largest accessible telescope, the observatory also contains a collection of instruments, photographs etc. from 1890. The Urania Observatory is a public observatory owned by Aalborg Municipality and it is driven by volunteers from "Nordjysk Astronomisk Forening for Amatører".

Opening hours

The observatory is open during the winter from September to May.

Wednesday 7.30PM – 10PM and Tuesday and Thursday by appointment.

You could also visit other museums in Aalborg.
