Grønvangsparken - bynær biodiversitet i Vejen

The small Grønvang Park is located in a green wedge in the town of Vejen. The park is packed with initiatives that support biodiversity. 

The idea behind Grønvangsparken is to increase biodiversity, and it is an offshoot of the nationwide initiative with Wild with Will, which started in 2021. You will meet this nature project on your Hærvej walk when you pass through Vejen By. 

In Grønvangsparken, these things have been done:

• a small path leading around the area, 
• placed a large tree root, which must stand and rot - with the help of insects and microbes,
• Made a large bed shaped like a butterfly and all the colors are made of flowers that have special properties in relation to providing food for insects 
• laid out a swamp bed,
• removed grass and sown wildflowers instead 

The park is used by local schools for teaching and by local Vejen sweaters who enjoy the species riches. Grønvangsparken is a project created by volunteers.
