KIRK Gallery continues with its eighth gable painting as part of the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the gable painting project 'Out in the Open'.
The highly acclaimed Spanish artist Manolo Mesa, known worldwide for his large still life gable paintings, has just arrived. He incorporates ceramic and porcelain, often sourced locally where he works, bringing this ancient craft into a contemporary urban context.
About the works, the artist says:
"In the objects, we find an inherent meaning in themselves, through the significance we already attribute to them.
Through the objects, we find a connection with the space, and the everyday objects we use—some found, some inherited—anonymous yet full of words, containing a familiar theme."
