Vejen's town hall was newly built in 2019, and it is built in the same place as the previous one.

The town hall in Vejen was inaugurated in 2019 and forms the framework for a modernly furnished workplace for approx. 180 employees and the municipality's political leadership. The current town hall is located on the same site as the previous one. The town hall is built as a concrete element building and has been given a distinctive character with a beautiful shell-walled façade on several levels.

The building has 4 floors with a large central atrium-inspired room with stairs in the middle and light from large windows. Carvings in the floor deck create a visual connection between the floors and skylights ensure good daylight that is drawn down through the building. The new town hall has two entrances to a central atrium that connects the building up through the floors.

In the central room, there are many views across the building, which creates a good coherence and makes the building appear open and friendly.

There is a total of 5,000 m² including basement and a 155 m² roof terrace adjacent to the canteen. The town hall contains the city council chamber as well as departments such as citizen service, technology and environment, finance and parts of internal services. There is a separation between areas with employee access and areas with public access.

The façade is shell-bricked and made by a major Vejen-based construction company. 180,000 light grey bricks have been used for the façade, which uses design features such as thin deck edges and columns and windows that have been retracted with slanted chamfered clearings. The façade creates both a classic and a dynamic design language at the same time.
