The Center for Danish Jazz History in Aalborg houses one of Europe's largest and finest jazz collections with records, CDs, films, videos, audio tapes, literature, journals, clippings and memorabilia.
At the jazz center, research is conducted on Danish jazz history, and books on the subject are also published. The jazz center hosts a range of activities for the public, including smaller concerts, jazz talks with local and visiting musicians, record nights, lectures, film screenings, and radio cinema.
The Center for Danish Jazz was established in 2006 as part of the Faculty of Humanities at Aalborg University, but since January 1, 2016, it has had independent status as a non-profit foundation with its own board. AAU contributes to the jazz center's activities, as does the sponsor association "Friends of the Center for Danish Jazz History."
